Engage, the National Association for Gallery Education, is entering a transformative phase following the departure of our director of 20 years. We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Director & Chief Executive Officer to lead Engage into its next chapter. The successful candidate will be a passionate advocate for visual arts engagement, with the strategic insight and leadership skills to guide a respected national organisation through renewal and growth.

This role involves setting and delivering Engage’s mission, vision, and values in collaboration with the Board, ensuring strong governance, stakeholder engagement, and financial sustainability. The Director will lead a high-performing, inclusive team and oversee operations, compliance, and work with our members. A key focus will be driving innovation, income diversification, and sector relevance.

The post-holder will represent Engage publicly, champion equity and inclusion, and foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement. We are looking for a motivated self-starter with excellent communication and negotiation skills, deep expertise in visual arts engagement, and a collaborative, hands-on approach to leadership.
