Outside In is pleased to launch Holding Space, a new sustained artist development programme supporting Midlands-based artists who face barriers to accessing the arts.

Delivered across four months at The New Art Gallery Walsall, the programme will support 10 artists through practical and reflective sessions focused on developing confidence, sustaining creative practice, and navigating opportunities within the arts sector.

The programme combines practical guidance, peer learning, and conversations around funding, curatorial practice, artist statements, portfolio development, and presenting work.

Each selected artist will receive a £40 bursary to support travel costs.

This opportunity is open to Midlands-based artists who identify with Outside In’s criteria. This includes artists who face barriers to accessing the arts due to disability, health, social circumstance, or isolation.

Artists working across all mediums are welcome to apply.
